Mount Amiata
Mount Amiata is a mountain group of volcanic origin, located in the Tuscan Antiappennino, between the Maremma, the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Paglia. The origin of the toponym Amiata has been identified by some in the Latin ad meata, meaning “at the springs”. Reachable in 30 minutes by car from San Quirico d’Orcia, it offers incredible views over the entire province of Siena and the Maremma, up to the Italian islands. For those who want to take a walk in the mountains and seek refreshment in the summer.
