Relais Palazzo del Capitano is located in the center of San Quirico d’Orcia, famous medieval village situated at 500 meters above sea level in the beautiful Natural Park of Val d’Orcia, since 2004 a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Built on a village of Etruscan origin, San Quirico was way station for travelers and pilgrims along the ancient Francigena way from Canterbury to Rome.

Inside the city walls you can visit the Romanesque church of the Collegiate of the eleventh century. next to the seventeenth century Palazzo Chigi, the park of The Leonini Gardens, a fine example of Italian garden of the ‘500 and what remains of the ancient hospital of Santa Maria della Scala.

Bagno Vignoni and its Thermal bath

Characteristic thermal town, known since Roman times and destination of eminent ipersonalities such as St. Catherine, Lorenzo the Magnificent and Pope Pius II.

Enchanting the square, with its old tub of spring water, which flows at a temperature of 52 degrees, surrounded by medieval and Renaissance buildings. Known for the benefits of its thermal waters rich in salt, calcium, iron carbonates and sulphates of sodium, ideal for those who want to relax benefiting for the body and mind.
